Hardened steel, ballistic nylon and other materials are used to create the unseen protection of a P.D.I. armored vehicle. On the leading edge, P.D.I. uses materials and technology that will produce an armored vehicle capable of achieving a defeat level as high as 7.62 NATO ammunition, yet still remain virtually indistinguishable from the original show room model.
Along with the basic armoring of passenger compartment, Protection Devices Incorporated offers several optional additions:

Flexible material made up of a combination of nylon and Kevlar, is applied to the fuel tank, as well as the roof and floor of the passenger compartment. These materials, capable of defeating grenades, dynamite and metal fragments are molded to the aesthetic features of the vehicle, insuring total comfort and luxury.
A
combination of bullet resistant glass and polycarbonate laminates are
used to produce windshields and windows with the look of ordinary glass.
However, with the same protection as 3/8" hardened steel plate, this
protective glass can defeat the most widely used high-powered rifles.
All lateral areas including the doors, pillar posts, battery, and rear passenger seat are bullet proofed with special hardened steel. The materials are chosen according to the protection desired by the customer. The armor can be designed to defeat weapons from low-caliber handguns to high-powered rifles.
Optional Equipment, such as "Run Flat" tires, can be added to compliment the protection of your armored vehicle. Although bulletproof tires don't exist, P.D.I. offers its customers a "run flat" tire. Bullets may penetrate this tire, but it is specially designed to maintain a top speed of 50 M.P.H. even after it has been punctured. This allows for mobility after an attack.
A wide range of products in full compliance with the major international ballistic standards:
- Totally anti-spall glass/polycarbonate (with abrasion resistant coating) make-up: the highest level of ballistic protection with optimized weight and thickness.
- Totally anti-spall glass/FAENAC (abrasion resistant anti-spall film) make-up : a less expensive alternative to glass/polycarbonate.
- Low-spall all glass make-up: the least expensive and longest lasting.
